We're on the hunt for a Part-Time Student Intern to join our amazing team. This is your chance to get up close and personal with the world of veterinary care, learn from the best, and have a ton of fun along the way!
What's the Gig?
As our student intern, you'll be working side-by-side with our super-talented veterinarians, vet techs, and the rest of our crew. You'll get to help out with all sorts of tasks, soak up tons of knowledge, and get a real feel for what it’s like to work in a vet clinic.
Your Mission (Should You Choose to Accept It):
Animal Handling and Care:
- Be a helping hand during exams, treatments, and procedures.
- Take care of our furry friends by feeding, walking, and keeping them cozy.
- Keep an eye out for any changes in their behavior or health and let the team know.
Clinic Assistance:
- Make sure our exam rooms and treatment areas are spotless and ready to go.
- Help sterilize and take care of all the cool vet instruments and equipment.
- Keep the clinic spick-and-span by sweeping, mopping, and doing a bit of laundry.
Observational Learning:
- Watch and learn during exams, surgeries, and other procedures.
- Join in on discussions and training sessions to boost your vet knowledge.
- Ask lots of questions and soak up all the info you can!
Professional Conduct:
- Keep things professional by respecting client confidentiality and following our clinic rules.
- Show up on time, be reliable, and bring your A-game.
- Follow all safety protocols to keep yourself, the animals, and our team safe.
What You Need to Bring to the Table:
- You have to be a current high school or college student (at least 16 years old).
- A huge passion for veterinary medicine and a dream of making it your career.
- Top-notch communication skills and the ability to be a team player.
- A big heart for animals and a commitment to their well-being.
- Attention to detail and the ability to follow directions like a pro.
- Basic computer skills (you know, for those pesky admin tasks).
- Physical stamina and the ability to handle and lift animals of various sizes (with a little help if needed).
